Tonight we went to the Cirque show in Honolulu. It was amazing! Absolutely incredible! The stunts they did were unbelievable. At one point though a guy almost fell. For a second I was scared I was going to see someone get hurt or die. But he recovered and stayed in the air, thankfully. We had … Continue reading Cirque, Dinner

In Oahu!
Our vacation so far has been wonderful. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and enjoyed the villages and the dancing and fire show at night. We also went shopping!!! Where we live there are no art stores and few book stores, so we stocked up. And of course, we have gone to the beach.
Bad Medicine, OCIA, Bible Journaling
Waking up was difficult to do this morning. Again, the medicine knocked me out. I'm not taking it tonight. OCIA was canceled today. Father C offered to teach it since I drove out for it, and one of my classmates was there already, but we all agreed it would be best to just reconvene in … Continue reading Bad Medicine, OCIA, Bible Journaling
Lifelong Student
I'm returning to my idea of an at home, self-directed MFA. But to broaden my horizons and seek new sources of inspiration, I might do a personalized curricum and study more than poetry. I'll break the year up into quarters and then further break classes down by month. I'd like to study Catholicism (obviously. I … Continue reading Lifelong Student
Exhaustion
Today was exhausting because of my medicine again. I struggled to wake up and ended up sleeping most of the afternoon when I laid down for a nap. Now I'm behind on housework and have to catch up tomorrow. Same with laundry. To that end, I am cutting that medicine in half to see if … Continue reading Exhaustion
Best Horror Book I’ve Read in A While
I am deeply, almost radically enjoying this collection of tiny short stories by Darcy Coates. I might be late to the party because she's a best seller, but this was my first book by her and the first I heard of her. I have a soft spot for short fiction. I've downloaded a novel by … Continue reading Best Horror Book I’ve Read in A While
Tired
I've been put on another medicine, and it's making me tired. I'm lying down a lot. Today, I started the day facetiming as a family with my parents. Tomorrow, my mother and I will have studio time together over facetime. My father and I, having read one of Scott Hahn's books (The Case for Catholicism), … Continue reading Tired
A Few Art Projects
I'm a poet, not an artist, but I find art very therapeutic, so I practice it regularly. I facetimed my mom this morning. We had a lovely morning of chatting and creating.
Discerning Catholicism in Light of Their Stance on Contraception
If you've been here a while or you know me in person, you know I have pretty severe Bipolar 1 Disorder. For this reason, C and I gave up on the dream of a bigger family. We had our daughter and I almost did not survive, and the Bipolar Disorder got worse after pregnancy, and … Continue reading Discerning Catholicism in Light of Their Stance on Contraception
Microscope, Quirks, Hypomania
My microscope arrived and C set it up for me! It is such a sweet gift. It comes with sample slides and a digital camera function. I adore it. My husband has always embraced my weirdness, and I love it. We appreciate one another's quirks. So when I start dying tin foil or asking to … Continue reading Microscope, Quirks, Hypomania
