We ended up trying a new church this morning because our church was shut for the Fall retreat we didn’t go on. We went to a church far away, because it was the denomination we wanted, which is hard to find. When I tell you this church was wonderful, it lacked nothing. The service was outside in the beautiful weather with lights strung around a gazebo. The congregation was small and friendly, and we sang all together. They chose mostly traditional hymns, which we love, but there wasn’t too much singing (which I loathe, being the killjoy I am). There was violin music too. The pastor’s message was inspiring and full of sound doctrine. They took Communion. I didn’t get super anxious like I usually do at our tegular church.
It’s a long drive, but C thinks the drive is worth it for this church. I agree. It had everything. There is even a lectio divina group I hope to join. I’m hoping it’s on zoom. But either way, we are excited to go back to this church.
After we drove home and had lunch, we went out for ice cream. Then we did what the girls have long been waiting for and went makeup shopping at a Super Target. I spent too much, but buying new lip colors and face masks was fun. I am trying a different brand of foundation that is significantly cheaper than my current foundation. I hope I like it. I have some othee new makeup too. Today a new organizer will be arriving for me to store it all neatly.
Tomorrow my husband is off again. I love it when he gets 4 day weekends. I have two drs appointments in the morning, but after that I hope to have some fun.
