Obey Your Husband Like You Obey God

Your husband is not God. He is a man. He is fallible. But God commands women to obey their husbands. That is not up for debate.

There have been times when I have not agreed with my husband’s decisions, but I supported them anyway. And each time that has happened, blessings have come my way that wouldn’t have if I hadn’t obeyed my husband. From life long friends to unforgettable experiences, God works in my life through the goodness and wisdom of my husband.

What will you lose if you submit? You’ll lose control, and that can be terrifying. But you’ll gain peace, security, and love. My husband’s careful, considerate leadership means I don’t have to worry about the future. My husband and God have me covered. Sometimes in the moment it is hard to see how everything comes together. But in the long run I have gained so much.

When you submit to your husband, he might rise to the challenge. My husband doesn’t take my submission as license to walk all over me. Instead it inspires him to lead lovingly and be gentle. Submission can make your marriage better, and make your husband a better man. So give him the chance to lead. Let your guard down. Allow God to bless you through your husband.

  1. “My husband and God have me covered.” Yes, it is a joy to rely upon and submit to a powerful male- the husband- that a woman knows loves her, and that she knows she can trust. I am not so religious as most, but I feel the same inside nonetheless. I have been a housewife for 16 years since I was very, very young. And you have a very nice blog btw… 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m glad you can relate. Traditional women’s voices are such a silenced minority. I am following your blog too now. I’m so excited to read what you write!
