My Job as Family Historian

All the ECT I have been doing is causing memory loss. This is causing me to have a greater appreciation for memory keeping. Recently, I have gotten back into scrapbooking. I went supply shopping with my friend C on Thursday and with my daughter on Saturday.

I’m the wife and mother of the house. Recording and documenting our lives is one of my responsibilities, and I have not been taking enough instant photos or digital photos. I want to start scrapbooking weekly, keep a daily diary on the Diaro app, and get an Instax 300 Wide for bigger instant prints. I want to make digital scrapbooking pages too.

Ideally, I want to get my daughter involved in this memory keeping. She has a camera, and I can give her film. It’s something we can share. I hope to go to another scrapbooking convention like the cool one I went to in Georgia, and this time I want to bring my daughter with me.

At the same time, most mothers know how frustrating it is to feel left out of family memories because we are always behind the camera. But I am determined to get more pictures taken of me, so I will involve my husband in the picture taking. We all know that husbands aren’t careful to take the most flattering or well framed photos, but they are happy to take photos if you ask nicely and appreciate the photos he is able to get. They won’t be the best pictures of me, but there will be photos of me with our daughter, and my daughter is old enough to take pictures of my husband and I.

I want to capture our beautiful days in the sun in our sweet pink beach house.
