Using the Good China for My Family

I love my daily use dishes. They have cute hearts on them. They’re very quaint. But I also have more formal, also very feminine china that has been in a box since I got it. Time to change that.

I’ve always saved the china for entertaining or special occasions. But why should other people get the nicest dishes and my family doesn’t? And isn’t any night of sacred family time around the table special?

I don’t get to entertain us often as I would like, although I do plan to entertain this year. But often when I do entertain it is close friends and we still use the casual dishes. Why should my china go to waste? I confess it was boxed up, and I even forgot I had it for a while. Why shouldn’t L or J or C or anyone else use the fine china?

Life should be pretty. It should be homey and bright and decorated. Life is too short to keep pretty things in a box. To that end, I use my Lisa Frank collectibles daily too. Pretty things should be cherished, but not to the point they don’t get to fulfill their purpose.
