Work in Progress

We have gotten so much done around the house. We’ve probably unpacked 200 boxes in the past 4 days. My husband has been amazing. He works so quickly, and he’s so patient and helpful. And our daughter has been a terrific little helper. I’m proud of her. I can’t sing their praises enough.

A had middle school orientation. It was just a quick event to meet the teachers and see the classrooms, but she seems to like her new school. I really hope that positive attitude will carry her through the year.

I loved school in middle school. I was on the debate team, and my partner and I won the city championship. I also won city on the public speaking team for extemporaneous speaking. I wrote my first novels, hung out with friends, and wrote scathing editorials for the school paper, which Ms. L sometimes refused to publish. I had a good time. I pray she does, too.

I’d like to start a bible journaling group at church, but getting it off the ground hasn’t been easy because I have to work with the pastor, and he’s very busy.  It’s hard to touch base with him. But hopefully, I can get something off the ground soon. If there was an interest from A or her peers, I’d love to host some sort of bible journaling club for girls at her school. I don’t know if it will be needed, though, because this school is much larger than her previous schools, and I don’t think parental volunteerism is as encouraged or required. But I just feel a call on my heart to mentor and share this beautiful devotion. So we’ll see. If Jesus wants me to do something, He will make an opportunity for it.
