Today was my first day volunteering at the animal shelter! I loved it! I played with two dogs, one of whom was named Whimsy and loved to chase the ball. I played with kittens! I returned home early, however, because it poured on me, and I got drenched and uncomfortable. My raincoat is with the movers. But tonight I got a poncho to wear for tomorrow! I look forward to completing the whole shift.
That’s one of the many things I love about staying at home – I get to volunteer my time because I have time. Having women who are available to help their neighbors or community is one of the benefits to creating a society where more women choose to stay home.
