Books Galore

Our kitchen stuff has arrived! We’ll unpack this weekend. Happy 4th! Molly is settling in well. We hope to see the fireworks from our house. We’ll see if that’s possible.

Yesterday I spent more than an hour on Kindle choosing book samples to download. I must have downloaded at least 30! Some samples I have already read and did not love, so I won’t be buying all of them. But there are some real gems here!

I’m working my way through this book and it’s inspiring. I’ve been out of school for many years, so a refresher course is nice – something to give me new ideas and refine me.
This book was recommended to me by a friend, our pastor’s wife at our last church. I am on the 2nd faithful woman, and it has given me a lot to think about.
I love short horror, and I’m enjoying this little anthology. Liminal spaces can be very creepy!
I adore bees! I admit the stingers scare me, but I can’t look at a bumblebee without wishing I could pet her. This book is part of a fascinating series with great photographs and information on wildlife. I already have their book on octopi and their book on sharks.
This I actually own a paper copy if, but it’s really good and I felt like reading it again and I don’t have my stuff. I might not get my stuff until autumn, so I decided to go ahead and get a digital copy.
Reading the biographic information on the poets and their times has been fascinating. I look forward to getting into the actual poetry!
I like Amy Gerstler’s poetry, and I haven’t read this book, so I’m excited about it.

A book from the same series as the bee series! Bats are so cool. Who doesn’t want a book about bats?

Sorry I was missing this week, dear reader. I actually wrote a post a couple of days ago, but somehow, I evidently left it as a draft. I thought I published it. I’m just glad to have so much reading to do. Books were my first obsession. And I want to stay sharp and interesting for my smart husband. He has an interesting job and reads a lot of philosophy, history, and linguistics, so he always has something interesting to talk about. I was sharp as a lego on the floor at 3 am when he fell in love with me, and I want to stay that way. It is a priority to me not to be boring to my husband. Not to mention, I don’t want to be bored myself.
