I’m super tired today, but I’ve made something of my time. I’ve done the dishes. Last night we bought another crock pot, and I cooked my husband’s lunch for the week.
I’ve journaled in my Bible as well and chatted with A via text. The laundry is done. Best of all, I’ve started reading 3 new books, though I’ve quickly decided to DNF one. It was about women writing and editing in horror and speculative fiction. It was way too feminist. You might be asking what I would expect from a work about women writers, but I don’t see why we can’t talk about women writing without bitching as though women have it so hard when we don’t. I believe women writers have important things to say just as men who write do, and I believe their lived experience as women likely has an impact on their work. But if you’re a modern day western woman, then your life experience just isn’t that oppressive. We don’t need to pretend it is.
But the other two books are great. One is about dog personalities and intelligence in puppyhood. As a dog lover, I am adoring this book! The third is an anthology of weird fiction set in coastal locales. I’m excited about it. The coast is such a weird, narrow yet liminal place. In general, I love weird, horror, scifi, and spec lit anthologies with interesting themes!

Tomorrow is day 2. I must strive again to keep the depression at bay.
