We’re on the island! C has already started work. Tomorrow is the work picnic. I might go with him but I’m not decided as I have been very unwell this week. This week has actually been pretty awful for me. Bipolar mood swings have rendered me exhausted and unable to function. Fortunately we are staying in a hotel so I can’t do any cooking or cleaning anyway, because I am not able to get everything done that I normally would right now.
This place is gorgeous! The ocean is so blue and it’s everywhere you look. The sky looks like a Renaissance painting. Tomorrow, we get to look at a house. I think we’ll take it, as houses are hard to get. There are no highways, and unlike DC, you don’t have to parallel park to go places. I’ll be free here! The air is hot and steamy. Everything is green. I adore this place so far.
C already has such a passion for his new job! I’m so proud of him. He works so hard. The next task is to find A a good school. There are only a couple to pick from, and we don’t have her final transcript from the last school yet, so there isn’t a lot I can do right now. But as soon as I get her report card, I need to get to work getting her in somewhere.
I miss my family. I’m thousands of miles from them. I miss my friends too. They didn’t live near me when I lived in DC anyways, but it was nice having them in the same time zone or close to it so that talking was easier. Living here will be an adjustment. But I think we’re going to like it.
