I don’t know about you, dear reader, but I need a better prayer life. We often think of praying as something you do alone, down on your knees or lying in bed. But if you only pray when you’re in one of those two positions, you will not pray enough. After all, life is busy. We can’t always be down on our knees or alone in the quiet.
Because of that, I want to make a concerted effort to pray while I do housework, make art, and write. I already have a book on using photography as an act of worship or prayer, and that’s a good starting point. But so much more than just my photography (the passion God used to bring me to Him) should be God focused. If you wash laundry, you should do it to the glory of God. I want to talk to God more.
Do you hunger for God and His Word? Sometimes, it can be easy to backslide, distracted as we are by the flesh and worldly things. But I find that diving into God’s Word and being more intentional about prayer can wash away whatever is lukewarm within you.
Take the challenge with me to pray throughout the day. We should try to pray without ceasing. I confess I can not yet do that, but I want to make progress in that direction
