Classes I’m Taking

I’m so happy! I found a course to listen to online about art therapy. I found another on pressed flowers and floral art. Then I found one on honing your photography style and another on abnormal psychology that will pair nicely with the art therapy class. One day, if I enjoy it, I might get certified to provide art therapy. I have no interest in having a career (as you know, dear reader), but I would love to volunteer my time and expertise to work with people who are struggling for whom art could really make a difference. I’d love to work with people dealing with mental illness, grief, and trauma.

If I enjoy my pressed flowers class, I might do a full online floral design course. I love flowers! They (the courses and the flowers) are expensive, so I want to see if I actually enjoy it as much as I think I will. My botany books I’ve read this year have reinvigorated my interest in plants in general. Floral design allows me to combine art with nature. It’s exciting. I can make beautiful bouquets for my home and maybe even my daughter’s wedding someday! Or I can just make art from dried flowers for fun.

I’ve been honing my photography style for a long time now, so I’m excited to learn more about it and see where I could develop further. Although I used to use a nice digital camera, I now mostly use my phone for digital photography. Then I have instant cameras and several cheap film cameras.

The memory damage from ECT makes it hard to retain information, but I’m going to dive deep and take notes. I’m so excited to stretch my mind. These subjects make me happy. I love that being at home frees me to study and grow.
