Our Thanksgiving has been wonderful. It was L’s first Thanksgiving, and it was fun to share the day with her. C made an absolute feast for us, outdoing himself as always. Then, after we ate, C and A took naps while L and I painted. Now I’m reading a beautiful art book I got for my birthday while the family watches anime. It has been such a peaceful day.
I have much to be thankful for. Times have been hard for a lot of people for the past 4 years, but we have always had everything we needed. My husband has a career he loves. I’m grateful for that, as I would hate to see him stuck doing something he didn’t like. He is an amazing protector and provider. He’s smart and interesting and so sweet to me. I am so thankful for him.
I am thankful for my beautiful daughter A. She’s an amazing artist and an even better person. And for L, who has fast become family. Having her here is a gift.
I’m thankful for my inlaws, who are good to me and to their grandchild. I talk to my father in law every day. My mother in law gives such thoughtful gifts. And they are both wonderful grandparents to A, which is what matters most to me.
I am thankful for my books and my art supplies. They inspire me so much. I remember being too broke to buy much in the way of books or art supplies, so I really appreciate having them now.
I am grateful to live in a world of technology. My husband and I met online. Without the dating site we met on, we likely never would have met, and A would not exist. It opens up creative possibilities, too, like photo editing software and cameras on phones. I am lucky to be alive today. There are lectures and videos at my fingertips.
I’m glad I was born in America. I’m glad to be a woman. Above all, I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Spirit that dwells in every believer. God is good.
