Today is my 36th birthday. My husband has spoiled me all day. Well, he always spoils me, but today he got me paints and tempera paint sticks and gelatos. Also, he got me a lovely art book. He made me stuffed shells (his stuffed shells are my favorite food) and got me a cake.
I want to give thanks for him today. He protects me and looks after me. He brings me my medicine in the morning. He turns on my side of the electric blanket.
C tells me no when I need to hear it. When I am not feeling well, he protects me from myself. He leads and guides me. Every day he makes me feel beautiful.
He checks on noises at night. He makes the decisions.
Every birthday I like to reflect and set goals for the next year. This past year has been difficult for me. We left my beautiful pink beach house in sunny Florida and moved somewhere I hate. On top of that I have not been feeling well. But 36 is going to bring a move to a beautiful island. My husband’s career is progressing. My daughter will start middle school. There is so much to enjoy and be thankful for. My goals are:
- Learn more dishes to make for my family.
- Learn a language
- Write another book
- Revise my book from this year
- Work on my blogs
- Get more involved at church
- Study scripture and pray more
- Learn mixed media sketchbook keeping.
- Read 100 books
- Finish year 1 of my MFA I designed
- Paint daily
- Improve my photography
