Today I did some therapeutic paintings and took some abstract photos.
Abstraction is so freeing. I know I should learn to make more realistic art, but even when I am browsing in museums, the first art I’m drawn to is always the abstract stuff. I love the liberation of color and texture from reality. If I ever do realistic art, it will be landscapes, not portraiture. I have no interest in paintings of people at all, but I do enjoy landscapes second to abstract. That said, I might do some portrait photography soon. I just need to find someone to pose! Maybe I’ll start with creative self portraits. I feel vain taking selfies, but self portraiture can be an art form.
