Our exchange student, L, arrived Tuesday night. She’s so sweet. She brought us a beautiful photography book about Spain, among other gifts. It’s gorgeous. Yesterday we took her into the city. I hope she had fun! She seems to be bonding well with A. Today we took her up to the high school to get her schedule and look around. The high school she will be attending is huge. I imagine she feels stressed out by it, but we tried to find some of her classes and meet some of her teachers. They all seem lovely.
We are trying desperately to add another member to our family – a sweet little dog named Lola who is on the other side of the country. I found her on instagram when a post popped up from an account run by a shelter volunteer. Lola is the cutest little dog! She was up for euthanasia and my heart just went out to her. I volunteered to afopt her, and the sweet shelter volunteer has searched tirelessly for a rescue to help us. Now we have one! I am trying to give them a house tour and have a phone chat. Technology is not behaving, but we’ll figure it out. I found a man who can transport Lola to us for $600. If we can all get this together, Lola will be picked up Saturday and start the journey to our home! We’re so excited! I have prayed so hard for her, and God is working through good people to save Lola’s life. We plan to name her Daisy.
Please keep us in your prayers until the adoption is final and Lola is safe in our arms.
