I’ve been feeling more energetic the past couple of days. I’ve been creating. I have been getting housework done. I made a big lasagna the other day, so we are eating leftovers tonight.
I took A to the fabric store to get thread for her sewing machine. She has her first sewing lesson tomorrow. I really hope she enjoys it. She will be doing sewing lessons as a part of her art curriculum this year.
I plan to start homeschooling her in July. We will do year round school so that our breaks are flexible. She is already starting twice weekly math lessons. While I prepare for that, I also want to become more disciplined about prayer and lectio divina. I don’t want to slack even when homeschooling starts taking up a lot of my time. I look forward to doing devotionals with my daughter though, in addition to standard school subjects.
I want to make an effort to take in content (when I take in content) that is either spiritually edifying or educational. Scripture needs to be at the core of my day. But between housework and homeschooling I am going to be pretty busy. I must be disciplined.
I have been gathering books and websites and classes and documentaries and workbooks for the upcoming year. I’m also starting to learn Spanish again to help A learn it. I want to do a crash course this week. We are so excited!
Yesterday, my husband, daughter, and I went into DC to see several monuments and got to see part of the Museum of Natural History. We tried a restaurant we hadn’t been to and we really liked it. It was a perfect day of family time! I brought my instax mini, and I think I went through at least five packs of film.
Things are looking up. I love productive days. I have to go now to throw the futon cover in the dryer. One of our dogs threw up all over it.
