I wrote about this on my Instagram, but I want to write more about it here. I have made a portable life. Scrapbooking, writing, art, reading, etc. can be done anywhere. I have to move, on average, every two years or so. Having things I love that can be done anywhere enables me to have some sense of stability and also to get great satisfaction from my life.
I love being creative, and I am serious about it, too. But the cool thing for a trad wife is you get to do so much creatively because your bills are paid. You don’t have to worry about what will sell to a publisher or gallery. I create whatever lights my fire.
This is good for people who aren’t creative too, although I would recommend everyone have at least one creative hobby. Can you create a nightly ritual of cards and board games you can do anywhere? Favorite shows you love?
Being a submissive wife can be difficult. You are sometimes told to do things you’d really rather not. Or not to do something you want to do. Following my husband brings me peace and fulfillment, but that doesn’t mean I’m always getting what I want. Moving is hard on me. I am Bipolar and need stability. Therefore, my portable life is just what I need. I have to be flexible to support my husband’s career, but I still need something for myself.
