New Visual/Poetic Project

I am beginning a new project that is part surreal poetry, part visual art. I am using typography as a visual art form. The very shape and color of letters and words on a page can be visual art, irrespective of meaning. I want to create a book of visual and verbal poetry/art. I want to challenge the idea that typography cannot be fine art. Yes it can.

Will I succeed? Who knows. But if I have some success and get this project where I want it, I will probably publish it. I have considered getting copies printed, embroidering in them, and then giving them away.

What has really been surprising is the way? I’m actually using a photo editor so far to create my pages because my photo editor has many more fonts and colors available than any of the word processors I have been able to find so far. I am still researching though. I am not sure if I want to work with jpeg rather than Docx. I may do half-and-half and use word processors for pages where I want to have tables or charts or things like that, and use the photo editor for other things.

Other than that, I am enjoying having family here for a visit. Though I’m out of the hospital I am still a bit sick. I threw up this morning. But I’m getting better.
