Big Cat Diaries, Wolves, and Homelessness

I found Big Cat Diary on Amazon Prime and confess I bought it. I loved that show back when my husband and I met, and I watched much of it with him. It’s a super big nature documentary. What’s not to love?

I read a fascinating book this week about wolves. I really love wolves. The book has gorgeous photography that chronicals the lives of a particular pack of wolves, and provides knowledge about wolves in general. Several years ago the federal government passed legislation that permanently took wolves off the endangered species list, and hunting them has sadly become a free for all between the hunting of the ranchers and the hunting policies of the government. It infuriated me, and inspired me to “adopt” one wolf and one pack. Now I follow the YouTube channel of one of the wolf conservation organizations. I wish I could do more to help.

I also saw a documentary on the “half homeless.” People who live in their cars or in hotels. It was so sad to see people struggling like that. I wish I could open my home up to these people living in their cars and offer them a place to shower. I couldn’t house them all, but I wish I could offer them a clean, comfortable place to shower where they didn’t have to pay or feel awkward for being there.
