Tropical Storm

Tropical storm Nicole is getting close. The sky is gray and the waves are crazy. I can see them turning white from my back porch. School might be canceled tomorrow. I hope it is. I don’t want to drive in a tropical storm. This isn’t a hurricane like Ian (at least it won’t be when it gets here), but we are actually expecting more rain than we got during Ian and a storm surge of four feet. Some areas around here are really low lying, so that’s bad news for a lot of people.

The dogs haven’t asked to go out even once. Narra is afraid of wind. Luna is so small she might blow away, and Aurora never likes to be outside for long.

When my husband gets home from his meetings we will have to bring the patio furniture in. It’s too unwieldy for me to do myself.

On a gray day like this, it is hard to come up with motivation. I’m sitting out on the back porch enjoying the cold wind and watching the waves get a little close for comfort. Craig already did housework this morning, so there’s not a lot left to do. I’m grateful. I should pick up my pictures, but my ankle doesn’t want a trip up the stairs to get the picture boxes. Next time I have to go upstairs for something I’ll bring those down.

All in all just a quiet day.
