I got brave and asked in the local military wives group if I could photograph people’s homes, yards, and businesses. A few people have said yes! I feel so blessed to have this opportunity.
The series will be done with My Instax Mini camera, as well as my phone connected to my instax mini link 2 printer that is coming in the mail today. To say I’m excited is an understatement.
I plan to invest in an Instax Wide later this year. I may bring my lomography film camera too. I’ll ask permission to use it, but I don’t think anyone will mind.
My goal is to be really good with instant photography and lomography. I may pick up my Polaroid again, but I much prefer the aesthetic I get with my Instax Mini. I think it’s unbeatable. Instant photography has got such a hold on me that I’ve considered going back to school for photography. The problem is that school doesn’t let you focus on your interests. I only want to use instant cameras and cheap film cameras. I want to get good with those tools, but I have zero interest in DSLRs or expensive film cameras.
To that end I watched a class on skillshare for instant photography, and I’m going to look for books on instant photography, lomography, and composition.
Stay tuned for more photos.
