Weird Dream, Art Book, African Poetry

So I had a weird dream. I was working for a publisher and I had to meet a best selling author. Her last book was deep and dark, and she was putting out a new book. I was told I had to meet her at a mall food court atca noodle shop she owned. So I went….and she was a hamster.

Craig says my dreams would be an interesting place to visit.

Today for Stay at Home University I am reading a book called Creative Block, Get Unstuck, Discover New Ideas. The book profiles 50 artists and interviews them. So far some of the artists appeal to me and some don’t, but all are profeessionals with useful advice. One artist that really stands out to me does Polaroid photography and writes messages on them. I would love to pair words with my instant photos, and take more pictures. I have a Polaroid, but prefer my Instax Mini 11. The one I have is a lovely shade of purple. My last one was blue, but it broke when Craig accidentally dropped it out of a purse. I want to pursue instant photography more.

I am rereading an old favorite – the Penguin Book of Modern African Poetry. It is one of the best anthologies I have ever read, and it is broken down by country, which I love. The vouces are so fresh and original, and the imagery is strong.

Next on the agenda is to use the MWR Digital Library to locate an educational documentary I want to watch.
