At Work in My Studio

I may start selling my art soon. I am debating getting into the NFT market with my digital collages, and using regular sales for my paintings. I don’t know if they would ever sell or not, but it’s something I might do. Either way I’m taking seriously my ability to work full time on writing and art, and actually devoting the hours to it. Practice makes perfect and I want to hit my 10,000 hour mark. The mastery app is good for tracking hours. I may start using it again.

I was speaking with my dear Dutch friend yesterday, and we agreed to do National Novel Writing Month together. We’re so excited. I don’t know if I will hit the 50,000 word mark simply because some of what I’m going to be doing is poetry and the entire idea behind poetry is to use fewer words. But some of it will be autobiography, some of it will be experiments in structures such as writing things in the form of a recipe or a glossary, some of it will be science writing, and some of it will be straight poetry. It will all coalesce to form one book. I am determined to finish. And I’m so excited to have a partner. I haven’t done NaNoWriMo in a long time.

This is me at work in my studio. I’ve done the base layer of three paintings. Now I’m waiting for them to dry so I can add more paint. I need to find my hole punch to make confetti as well.
