Today Angelica and I hung out. I took her to the fabric store with me, and we bought a ton of fabric. I let her get a yard of any fabric she chose, as well as a quarter. I got a bunch of rainbow fabrics to use as photo backdrops.
Then I surprised her with lunch at Casa Leon, our favorite Mexican restaurant. She got a taco and I got two cheese enchilladas. For dessert we got xanga. I had the fried cheesecake part and she had the ice cream.

I love being a mom. It’s the best feeling in the world – even better than writing. We’ve since come home, and we hung out in the art room. She used some of my washi tape to make a Father’s Day gift for Craig, and I photographed scrapbooking paper to use as collage backgrounds. Now we are on the back porch. Angelica is practicing her drawing skills and here I am blogging.
I miss Craig already though. He left for El Salvador at 4 am. He just landed safely. Thank God. I know tonight is going to be the really hard part. I’m used to him being gone at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. For a long time he was home during the day because he was working from home as a grad student, but I have gotten used to him being back at work. But when evening rolls around and he doesn’t come home that’s going to be hard.
