It’s our third day of driving to our new home. We will arrive today, though we won’t get the keys to our new house until tomorrow. I want to make the most of our new adventure. We just came from Aquidneck Island in Rhode Island. The island was cute and sweet, but I was mostly deeply unhappy there. My husband got to be home a lot, which I loved, but beyond that I felt trapped. I briefly had one friend, but then she had to move.
Previously we lived in Colorado and it was amazing. If I looked out my back window I saw the Rocky Mountains. If I looked out the front I had a sweeping view of the prairie. In Rhode Island I had a sweeping view of cars parked all over the street and old run down duplexes. It hurt my soul. I need beauty to be happy.
Now I have something to look forward to! Our new house is right by the beach and it’s pink. I’m super excited for it! My husband will be traveling a lot for work, and that will be difficult. But the beauty will bring me peace.
